tonight

tonight we went to target and they have all their halloween costumes in. they are all pretty much the same as every year but tonight i saw one that caught my attention...

the giant adult hot dog costume!

and matt looked amazing in it. the funny part is that rory was a hot dog three years ago. haha

scrapPINK

today was scrapPINK at Archiver's! yea! it was really fun! a couple of girls from work signed up with me and we had such a great time. i of course wore as much pink as i could find, which is more difficult than you would think. i didn't realize how little pink i have in my closet. but i did manage to pull something fun together. and was probably one of three people who dressed the (pink) part.

i even won my minds eye paper in a give-a-way! cool. and i didn't have it either -which is a shock! i was really pumped to see what the girls put together for our embelishment swap too. we decided to make an embelishment and then swap at the scrap today. i made flowers with sewn buttons, julie made these awesome pink high heals made out of paper with pink bracelets and candy in them and syd made cute tags! it is always neat to see what other people come up with when you do something like that

good day

today. today was successful. i went to renew my drivers lisc. and you never really know how long to expect for this to take. i was soo lucky to get right in line and be prob the 4th person. but ends up the two people in front of me forgot her paperwork and they guy was in the wrong office. i stepped up to the counter and said 'lucky me' and they guy compelely ignored my coment and went right into his speal...in and out in under ten mins.

so then i went to the gap to celebrate my drivers lisc and ended up they were having a huge sale. i got leggings, actually not just leggings, really really soft cottons leggings for 2.99! wow.

then i ran home to pick up the pups to take them for their microchip appt! they were so good. then i ran to QT for gas, which was only 2.23 awesome! and got a blue slushie!

so now here i am catching up on emails and wearing my new super soft leggings!

and its only 5 pm.

today

i was off work today and feeling much better after much needed rest. first i took the pups to the dogpark even though it looked like it was going to rain. which it didn't thank goodness. after two much needed dog baths i finally recieved my snapfish photos 7 days after they shipped. hmm.

now being inspired to create something with some of my new photos i made a 5x7mini album. this was a fishing book from when we where in colorado this summer and matt fished for the first time there. they were such amazing photos that i wanted to make sure they were not cropped or made too small on a layout. they needed to be in their very own mini album.

now i am watching a law and order marathon! today was pretty good

sick today

today i am sick. we it started last night really. and i wont count the day before that because that was stomach sickness. so last night went to dinner(pizza) with my guys, matt and josh, and my throat started to itch. strange. i felt my tonsals start to ache and then my ears had fluid in them. by they time dinner was over i couldn't breath out of my nose. went home and was in bed by 830 and asleep before 9. and after 11 hours of sleep i felt ok this am. i had to be at work by ten. during work i just didn't feel "normal" and by the end of work i was having cold sweats. came home and went right back to bed for 3 more hours. when i got up this time i could tell i had a lot of conjestion in my chest... now i am just waiting. waiting to see if i get really sick or this blows over. time will only tell.

scrap space

my scrap space! itsn't it so cute?! i am really happy with the way our desk area turned out. we went to ikea to get these extra long desks then got my all time favorite storage drawers from supertarget(see below desk). not in the bin/org section thought, these are found next to the sewing machines- strange but they are special drawers because they have lids to the pull outs. amazing.

GREECE? really? can i go?

i was just reading my idol's blog, ali edwards, and found out about a Greece Scrapbook Retreat! wow, really? i wanna go so bad. it says they want to keep the group small so they can have one on one time with the "celebs" of the scrapbook world and get to know them. As well as taking mini classes and photography lessons....in Greece!! that would be so amazing!

woooooooooowwwwww!!!!!! I will keep you posted if i can work it out with my schedule. keep your fingers crossed!

new new new

i am all new. new hair, new converse, new camera!! thats right. i finally got my camera that i have dreamed about for what seems like forever. i cannot wait to take it out and put it to work.

there are no words for how excited i am right now. or i just cannot think of anything nice to say because i had a bad day....stubbed my newly pedicured toe, snagged my fav sweater at work, got a papercut under my fingernail. and on top of that i felt so sick for the past six hours. now i cannot sleep. good thing its my day off again tomorrow. rest up and maybe take a few photos around home.

fresh

i am feeling brand new with my fresh haircut and color. yes, my matty always does a wonderful job but it was time for a re-fresh. wow and do i feel better. a new and improved katey. i even feel lighter with how much hair was thinned out and chopped off. yay yay yay.

photos, i have so many photos. i have so many photos because i take so many photos.

it takes soo much time to upload photos to the order page on websites. then to crop/edit/etc. taking several short intervals to do all this steps. so just now i was on snapfish (my fav) and right when it turns to midnight the page says they are doing their updates. they cannot do this to me. i have to work tomorrow night and sat day then only have so many hours until the free shipping promo is over.

the reason this has become such a task is because i have so many free prints through shutterfly (not a fan) but it takes so darn long to upload prints to their webpage. it will say 20 mins at least each folder. i do not have time for that so whatever i cannot upload i wanted to order on snapfish because they are so much quicker. but my time is passing by so quickly due to many projects.

good morning or good night

wow, its eather really early or really late depending on how you look at it. it is almost 3 am and i am jazzed. i am getting things done tonight. wow.



well first this am at 10am i started to continue on the hood wedding book and i finished about 230pm. holy cow, did my neck hurt from looking down that long. but its done...almost. i just have to get the cover ready...or covers since there will be two book now that there are over a hundred and some pages. it is huge.



so then i took a break and ventured over to michaels and tuesday am where i found a few good finds. i like to find things marked clear down and find them before anyone else realizes there is a good deal. like this little making memories embishment box that is being sold at archivers right now for ten dollars and i found the same one in a different color scheme for 2.99. that is a rockn deal.



because i was having such a rockn day. i decided to put a few page planning kits together for myself of newly printed photos matched with the apporpriate paper and get it ready to work on...well i ended up making probably 20 kits or more. then i sat down and started working on them at 11pm until a few mins ago. but i would have to say that i got a ton done. i put together 7 without embelishing or journaling.

today was a good day. and was neat because it was 9-09-09!!

today

Today was the Sunday before labor day. We are back in Des Moines for the Brown family birthday party at the park. It was fun to get together to celebrate the Summer birthdays. Amie and I are 25 this year, wow, cannot believe it. It was also my aunt Jolene's, uncle Jim's and Jon's birthdays as well. My aunt jolene took some really good photos with her big camera. Matt and I head back to lawrence early tomorrow, Monday, morning so he can get his reading done after having a very busy weekend!!

Happy 1st BD Peyton!!

today was Peyton's first birthday party! matt and i went over to the wright's house for a big birthday celebration. i would have to say that my gift, the origional sock monkey, was a big hit at the party and probably one of the favorites!! Peyton told me so.

good mail day

theres nothing that makes me happier than a good mail day. okay, maybe a few things but who doesn't like fun mail. i do, i do!! birthday cards, scrapbook magazines...etc. all good news to me! this was a great mail day. and i was tickled to get home to open it all!!

more projects

yes more projects. i finally painted my chest from the previous weekend and it looks so cute. matt even came outside and took photos of me painting. it turned out really neat! i will post at a later date if there are any items that i find down the road to fix and sell.

i am hoping to get up earlier on the weekends that i dont work early and get to a few sales before they are over for the season and find a few deals for fix ups and possibly sell them...who know i am pretty crafty?!

the new and improved chest looks really nice in our room. i have our faux fur blanket draped over top. so excited that it turned out so neat!! i rock

tonight

tonight was the night that has been planned for months. randy usually does something pretty fun for his birthdays but everything this year has to be bigger and better than ever...since we are back in town and are excited to celebrate anything big or little together.

tonight was the big celebration of randy, josh and my birthdays. randy was 32, josh was 29 and i am twenty five! yep tonight is already over and is acutally morning at this very moment. matt's brother ryan came into town for the night to come to the big party as well as my good friend ashley. they boys are wrapping up the night with a little football madden and ashley is sound asleep. i can hardly keep my eyes open but must make my blog post.

we had a nice time tonight at JoShmos upstairs party room!! there was even a d.j. amazingly enough we even had great music! that is a big deal with people.

closet project

it seems like everytime we move there is an issue with the size of the closet or where things are to go. i have been working hard this past weekend and it looks amazing! with special thanks to bed bath and beyond ...even though i hate that over-priced store, that i can never find anything in. well thanks just this once. ( see photos)
also a very tidy laundry room....love it!!
