due to heavy snow we were unable to leave for colorado the day after christmas. which was a bummer but we were able todo a little post christmas shopping.
the highway from iowa to colorado had pretty heavy snow and had been closed for the past 2days. we were worried that they were not going to be open by the next morning so saturday pm we drove back home to lawrence to unpack and lighten our load for our trip to colorado since we were packed in tight with all our new things.
the roads weren't too bad back to lawrence but once home we realized how much snow. wow. we could hardly park our car in the 2 foot drift in the parking lot.
matt was so excited to start our trip to colorado i am surprise we got the four hours of sleep that we did. we unpacked the car then repacked the car, ate take-out, got the mail and were on the way out of town before 4 am.
as bad as we were expecting the roads were only a little snow covered in lawrence and topeka area out of the entire drive.
it was nice that we were able to get to my parents by one-ish so we had half a day to spend with them!
